AntiSec hackers group took the responsibility of stealing Apple's passwords
12 July 2011
According to Monday's news of The Wall Street Journal, world's one of the best well protected site, belonging to Apple, was recently attacked by the AntiSec hackers group and 26 usernames and passwords were stolen.
The hackers published the attack on pastebin, a file-sharing website, where they even gave a link to a server that is used by Apple to handle survey data, along with username and password details of the server's 26 administrators.
The accuracy of this information has not been confirmed, and Apple, who has spent 8 years without a successful hacker attack, refused to comment immediately on the issue.
AntiSec team, comprised of hackers from famous Anonymous group and from past Lulz Security, said they try to attack governments and large corporations in defense of "freedom and progress".
Their Twitter account, @AnonymousIRC, tweets a link to the pastebin website with the list of usernames and passwords and also said that they didn't were so serious with the attack and that the computer giant wasn't their main objective.
As per a tweet, "#Apple could be target, too. But don't worry, we are busy elsewhere."
Since past two months AntiSec had attacked too many companies which includes the electronics company Sony and telecom industry AT&T, some federal agencies like the US Senate, the Central Intelligence Agency and the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
These many attacks resulted into the separation of the Lulz Security group who was well known as the culprits once upon a time.
