LinkedIn Connects Jobseekers With Recruiters With Its New Tool 'Apply With LinkedIn'
26 July 2011
LinkedIn, professional and famous social media network, has introduced a tool which allows jobseekers to apply for open positions by forwarding their LinkedIn profiles directly to concerned employers.
LinkedIn introduced this feature to set its service in front of the curve against competition from new networks such as Google's Google+ that enables users to separate contacts into a professional category. This feature, called as Apply With LinkedIn, enables employers to include a button to online job listings so candidates can tap on it and send their data directly to the company. Candidates have an opportunity to personalize the data with a cover letter.
LinkedIn's senior vice president for products and user experience, Deep Nishar, says for the employer, "it enables them to prioritize better." Until certain point, the new service streamlines a method which already took place. For instance, employers many a time monitor candidates' LinkedIn profiles for insights like if they know employees in the recruiting company. The concerned employer companies will already be using the service such as Netflix movie service, LivingSocial daily deals service, Photobucket photo site and, obviously, LinkedIn itself.
LinkedIn has 100 million members, but not all of them visit the website daily. With the new Apply With LinkedIn feature, job-seekers will get notifications about the updates of their profiles through the alert function along with the date of their last modification. This tool can be found with LinkedIn's March introduction of the LinkedIn Today service that enables members to view news stories which are famous among their networks or industries.
It even comes as the new network of Google registering last 20 million user mark in only a few weeks, as stated by ComScore. Nishar says competition led LinkedIn to remain cutting-edge.
