Google Plus Gaining The Real Boom In Social Media Network
25 July 2011
Google's latest service 'Google Plus' is constantly getting base in the social networking media, until now led by Facebook, showing the Internet giant's social network enticing approx. 20 million people in the starting three weeks and approx. half of these coming from US and India.
Based on the assumption made by ComScore, Google Plus had 19.93 million unique visitors between June 29 and July 19 period. The top two countries in this assumption include the US and India. Among them, 5.31 million were from US and 2.85 million from India. In addition to this, 0.87 million users came from UK, 0.71 million from Germany and 0.50 million from France.
The vice president of ComScore, Andrew Lipsman says, "I have never seen anything grow this quickly." The introduction of Google Plus on June 28 was an answer from Google to its counterpart Facebook. It allows users to put photos, messages, comments and other data from a chosen groups of friends. This service began as a field trial and the project is by invitation only, i.e. a person can sign up only if an existing member invites him.
Thus, Google's intention is to integrate Google Plus features with its other services including YouTube website. Larry Page, Google's CEO, made a statement a week ago that Google Plus had more than 10 million members. He said there are "more opportunities for Google today than ever before".
It will take some time before Google meets Facebook's height with more than 750 million members. Another famous website, Twitter, has more than 200 million registered members. With 'Google Plus', the company target is to gather a share in the beneficiary social networking media that has until now been ruled by the famous website of Mark Zuckerberg.
The website includes features such as 'Circles', 'Sparks', 'Hangouts' and 'mobile'. With Circles, Google aims to Facebook's feature that allows a user's data to be shared by default with all the friends of a person along with their office colleagues, and not just with their close personal friends. With Huddle, users can send text messages to various people at a time, also called group texting.
