21 July 2011
Since Tuesday, Google have started giving warning messages to some of its famous Internet search engine users that their systems may have a virus.
Damian Menscher, Google's security engineer, said a regular maintenance on one of its data centers show unwanted requests from infected computers in form of malicious software. He said the request was sent to Google with intermediary system servers called "proxies".
So, Google started giving warning notifications in addition to the search results for that seems to be having virus infection.
Menscher's blog comment states, "We hope that by taking steps to notify users whose traffic is coming through these proxies, we can help them update their antivirus software and remove the infections. We hope to use the knowledge we've gathered to assist as many people as possible."
