G.CO Now Belongs To Google

This Monday .CO Internet SAS declared that the search engine giant Google has recently acquired the G.CO domain name and will be using the URL to easily join, communicate and engage with clients by introducing an official shortcut for Google’s products and services.

Since the first anniversary of the public announcement of the .CO domain on July 20, 2011, the number of movements continues to be strong as world-leading industries and organizations to greater extent enfold the .CO platform.

From the day after its first launch, the .CO domain caught attention of higher than one million registrations by people, organizations and businesses in 200+ countries worldwide, along with some major brands such as Twitter, Amazon and Overstock, and hundreds of thousands of entrepreneurs around the globe.

According to the statement made on the official Google Blog by Google VP (Consumer Marketing) Gary Briggs, G.CO would soon be the “official URL shortcut for Google websites”. He also said that Google will only be able to make G.CO shortcuts; which means “you can visit a G.CO shortcut confident you will always end up at a page for a Google product or service.”
