16 July 2011
According to a report of BBC, more than one million websites had been closed down in China in the year of 2010.
There was only 41 percent lesser websites by the end of 2010 when compared to 2009 as per the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences study.
Now a days, China has constricted rules on the Internet and introduced too many measures on pornographic websites during 2009.
In spite of the diminishing website count, the number of webpages have been increasing by 60 billion during 2010, according to the academy researcher Liu Ruisheng. He stated, "This means our content is getting stronger, while our supervision is getting more strict and more regulated."
China has stopped too many websites including BBC's Chinese language service and social networking sites like Facebook, Youtube and Twitter.
